"One remembers, watching the performances, Ms.
Sokolow's belief that audiences and performers must feel dancing
that is
impelled by truth"
Jennifer Dunning, New York Times

Anna Sokolow remains one of the most innovative,
uncompromising and influential modern dance choreographers of the
20th Century, creating dynamic work that challenges and inspires
both performers and audiences. Her timely and timeless choreography
endures and maintaines its universal appeal to this day.
Licensing fees, usually acquired for two
years, depend upon the length and complexity of the dance. A royalty
fee of $75 per performance is required during the second year. Other
expenses vary with the length of the reconstruction, and exclude
housing, travel and per diem for the reconstructor.
"Sokolow's dances . . . will hopefully last
a thousand years. I venture to suggest that they will tell future
generations more about our century than many a history
Francis Mason, The World of Dance, WQXR
