The Sokolow Dance Foundation, established in 2003, is the only institution dedicated to the continuation of the extraordinary legacy of Anna Sokolow. It is through PRESERVATION, EDUCATION, and PRESENTATION that the Sokolow Dance Foundation aims to perpetuate the Sokolow legacy for future generations.

Sokolow was one of the most influential, innovative and inspiring choreographers of all time. Her unique approach to choreography is the core of her legacy. SokolowÕs distilled imagery combined with a strong
physical commitment and technical
excellence creates a compelling
experience for dancers
and audiences alike.

PRESERVATION
The Sokolow Dance Foundation continually strives to develop its video archive by researching and reclaiming Sokolow repertory from both private and public sectors. This archive will be open to the public in the year 2006.

EDUCATION
A series of video-lectures on the life and work of Anna Sokolow , and the Sokolow Legacy Workshops comprise the foundation's educational programs and are available to the public.

PRESENTATION
Licensing repertory to professional dance companies, college dance ensembles and individual artists who wish to perform the work is available through the foundation.
